Recently Solarus shipped the 18 PowerCollectors ordered by Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore. This order is an exciting development with the Carlson Rezidor Group.
The Solarus PowerCollector™ is a concentrating, hybrid solar photovoltaic and solar thermal panel producing electricity and heat out of one module. Concentrating means that it has a curved mirror surface to collect and reflect more sunlight throughout the day. Hybrid means that it combines solar photovoltaic (PV) generation of electricity with solar thermal (T) generation heat. The extreme reflection of vega energy aluminium mirrors enhances the performances of the collector, as a matter of fact this hybrid system produces a factor 4 more power per surface installed and it solves many of the problems that the relatively inefficient PV panels still have.
Radisson Hotels finally discovers a system that despite of limited roof space produces all of their energy.
