is a company specialized in aluminium products, starting from its early days as a supplier of reflector components for local Italian companies to its present position as a supplier to all the world’s major lighting system producers. This specialisation has led the Group to become one of the world's biggest producers of components for the lighting technology, solar energy industries and decorative market.

Environment

Respect for the environment has always been a cornerstone value for the Almeco Group.

Ever since the 1970s, the company has carried out significant investments aimed at achieving a positive ecological impact, using waste water purification plant and fume extraction and purification devices applied directly at the point of use inside the workplace to eliminate fluid and vapour hazards both inside and outside the factories.

To effectively minimize the environmental impact of its production processes, the Almeco Group takes into consideration the possible environmental consequences at every stage of production , from the technical characteristics of components, to production methods, usage and disposal.

From May 2009 Almeco S.p.A has adopted an Environmental Management System (EMS) conforms to UNI EN ISO 14001: 2004 international standard on environmental management systems and the IPPC (Integrated Preventive Pollution Control), to efficiently and effectively reduce the environmental impact of its production processes.
This is a legislative must linked to the production plant of the company.
IPPC allows the constant monitoring and requires that all processes are using the best technologies available on the market (BAT) to achieve targets with low environmental impact, in compliance with existing laws.

The purpose of the adoption of EMS is to achieve improved environmental performance, while respecting the fundamental principles of management, namely: commitment and environmental policy, environmental planning, implementation and operation, measurement and evaluation, review and improvement. The adoption of the EMS has required the commitment of all staff. This effort started from the highest organizational level, who defined the environmental policy statement on the intentions and principles adopted by Almeco S.p.A towards safeguarding the environment.

The Almeco Group, actively seeks to:

make a useful contribution to society through the development of technologies related to products, production and evaluation systems, including directing all corporate activities to stick to the principles of environmental conservation; assess the extent of the environmental impact of the first phase of development and product design and produce solutions that minimize consumption of resources and energy during operation;
production methods valid from the standpoint of environment on a global scale, reducing the amount of waste produced and energy consumption;
reduce the use of damaging substances;
increase waste purification process efficiency;
promote projects for the recycling of waste;
increase the use of environmentally-compatible substances and materials.
